Events held within the RO18 Programme on 15th of September 2015
On 15 September 2015 were held in Vienna, a number of events organized by the entities involved in the implementation of the RO18 Programme - Capacity-building and Institutional Cooperation between Romanian and Norwegian Public Institutions, Local and Regional Authorities, financed within the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014, as follows:

The Cooperation Committee meeting related to the RO18 Programme, organized, according to the provisions of the Regulation for the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, by the Programme Operator, Ministry of European Funds.

This meeting aimed to present the progress and results achieved to date, discuss problems encountered in the implementation of the two predefined projects, technical and financial, planning the bilateral actions and the communication, in order to successfully implement the RO18 Programme.

The works of the Committee was attended by the representatives of the Donor Programme Partner (Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority – NRPA), Financial Mechanism Office from Brussels, Project Promoters and their Partners within the predefined projects financed through the RO18 Programme (Romanian National Authority for the Control of Nuclear Activities - CNCAN, NRPA, International Atomic Energy Agency - IAEA, Romanian National Agency for Fiscal Administration – ANAF, Norwegian Tax Administration)

The Side Event on the CNCAN project - Regional Excellence Project on Regulatory Capacity Building in Nuclear and Radiological Safety, Emergency Preparedness and Response in Romania, organized during the IAEA Annual Conference. The conference brings together representatives of all worldwide Member States, in order to address many issues targeting, inter alia, the nuclear security, the technical cooperation, the safe transportation of the radioactive waste, etc.

This project with a budget of 4.215.098 EUR is developed in cooperation framework by National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control (CNCAN) with Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority (NRPA) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).The aim of the project is to enhance the capabilities of the Romanian nuclear regulatory authority (CNCAN) in eight specific functional areas of work through exchange of experiences, best practices and capacity building.

The event was conducted in the presence of Mrs. Bente Angell-Hansen, the ambassador of Norway in Austria, Mr. Cristian Istrate, the ambassador of Romania in Austria, representatives of the Financial Mechanism Office from Brussels, of the Ministry of European Funds, CNCAN, NRPA, IAEA, and other guests.
