The Ministry of European Funds organised the Annual Meeting for the EEA and Norway Grants 2009-2014
Within the Annual Meeting for the EEA and Norway Grants, which took place yesterday at the Ministry of European Funds headquarters, the Donor States appreciated the progress made by Romania between 2015 and 2016: 830 projects have been contracted, the contracting rate has reached 95%, while the payments to projects have amounted to 67%.
The 5th Annual Meeting for the EEA and Norway Grants 2009-2014, organized on the 16th of June by the Ministry of European Funds as National Focal Point, brought together representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs from Norway and Iceland, the Embassy of Norway in Bucharest, the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, as well as of the institutions involved in the management of these grants in Romania.
During the meeting, the participants approached issues related to the stage of programmes and projects financed within the EEA and Norway Grants under implementation, the development of bilateral relations, as well as other issues of interest. It was also emphasized the successful completion, by the 30th of April 2016, of the projects implemented under the NGO Fund, managed by the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society and under the program Green Industry Innovation, managed by Innovation Norway.
The EEA and Norway Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, the Principality of Liechtenstein and the Kingdom of Norway in reducing the economic and social disparities and strengthening bilateral relations with recipient countries in Europe. For the period 2009-2014, Romania received an allocation of 306 million euros.
