The Project Management Unit announces the launching conference of the Programme PA16/RO12 „Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage", which will be taking place on Wednesday, November 27th, starting 10.30 a.m. at the National Library of Romania - "Mircea Eliade" Room, located in Bucharest, 22 Unirii Avenue.
The Programme is being financed through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 and it will be implemented by the Project Management Unit within the Romanian Ministry of Culture, as Programme Operator.
The objective of PA16/RO12 Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage is „Cultural and natural heritage for future generations safeguarded and conserved and made publicly available".
The implementation of the Programme shall contribute to the protection of the Romanian cultural heritage and the development of communities by improving the tourist and investment attractiveness of cities and regions. The conservation and valorisation of the intangible heritage aims towards strengthening cultural identity of ethnical, social and cultural minorities, including the Roma population.
The event will include the launching of the call for bilateral relations, which aims to enhance cooperation between cultural operators from Romania and the Donor States (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and to support future common projects.
This event will bring together representatives of the National Focal Point, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest, Romanian Ministry of Culture, the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage, the Certifying Authority and the Audit Authority, as well as cultural operators from Romania and the Donor states.
The total Programme budget is of 16.470.589 Euro, out of which 14.000.000 Euro represent the funds of the EEA Financial Mechanism and 2.470.589 Euro shall be provided by the Romanian budget.
