The opening of the calls for proposals within the Programme PA16/RO12 Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage

The Ministry of Culture, through the Project Management Unit, acts as Programme Operator for PA16/RO12 Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage and announces the opening of the calls for proposals for large projects and for the small grant scheme, starting January 6th, 2014. The deadline for submitting applications is April 7th, 2014 for large projects, and April 25th, 2014, for the small grant scheme.

The Programme is financed through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014 and represents an important financial opportunity for the Romanian cultural field.

The total budget of the Programme is of 16,470,589 Euro, out of which 85% represents the financial contribution of the Donor States – Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein and 15% is the co-financing from the national budget. The amount is intended for projects supporting cultural and natural heritage for future generations safeguarded and conserved and made publicly available.

The total budget of the present calls for proposals is of 9,821,004 Euro for large projects and of 1,176,470 Euro for the small grant scheme.

Eligible applicants are public entities, non-governmental organisations active in the field of cultural heritage or ethnic minorities, religious organizations legally recognized, as well as higher education and research institutions.

The financed activities within the projects shall contribute to the protection, restoration and conservation of cultural and natural heritage, as well as the development of the infrastructure for digitization of cultural heritage resources and making them publicly available. The implementation of the Programme shall aim at conserving and promoting the intangible heritage of ethnic and cultural communities, including the Roma population.
