Minister Eugen Teodorovici attends the annual meeting for EEA and Norway grants
Minister of European Funds, Eugen Teodorovici, participated on Wednesday, June 18, to the third annual meeting for the EEA and Norway grants, organized at the Gabroveni Inn in Bucharest, a historical building restored under these grants. During the meeting, the progress in the implementation of the EEA and Norway grants 2009- 2014 was assessed.
"We must use the EEA and Norway grants as soon as possible, as for the amounts to reach fast the people and the other entities they are dedicated to. At the same time, I assure you of our entire support as to have a flexible system to ease the implementation of the projects both the beneficiaries and the programme operators.
For the period 2009-2014, Romania benefits from grants amounting to about 306 million euro, which is three time bigger than the previously allocated grants", Minister of European Funds, Eugen Teodorovici, declared.
The meeting also enjoyed the participation of the representatives of the donor states, of the Norwegian embassy in Bucharest, of the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, of the Ministry of European Funds as National Focal Point, of the Programme Operators, of other entities relevant for the implementation of the programmes (Certifying and Payment Authority, and respectively the Central Harmonization Unit and Public Internal Audit), as well as the members appointed in the Monitoring Committees for the EEA and Norwegian Grants.
During the meeting, issues related to the progress of the programmes implementation, actions supporting the disadvantage groups, institutional issues, the Strategic Report for 2013, as well as other spot issues were discussed.
The participants to the annual meeting visited the Gabroveni Inn, whose renovation was carried out with EEA and Norwegian Grants support.
