The first meeting of the Monitoring Committees for the EEA & Norway Grants
The first meeting of the Monitoring Committees for the EEA & Norway grants took place on Monday, November 25, in Bucharest. The role of these committees gathered for the monitoring and assessment of the two, EEA and Norway, financial mechanisms, is stipulated according to the provisions of chapter 4, Art. 4.4 in the Regulations for the implementation of the EEA and Norway grants 2009-2014.
The agenda of the Monitoring Committees included issues related to the assessment of the progress in the approval of the programmes financed through the EEA & Norway grants in Romania, the analysis of the calendar of events scheduled in the next period for each programme, the presentation of the management and control system at national and at programme level.
The members appointed in the Monitoring Committees by the ministries and public authorities relevant for the two programmes, by the civil society, as well as observers in the donor states, of the embassies of the donor states in Bucharest, of the Financial Mechanism Office in Brussels, as well as of other entities relevant for the implementation of the programme (Certification and Payment Authority, i.e. the Central Harmonization and Internal Public Audit Unit) were invited to attend the meeting.
